Irish Churches and Abbeys - Jody Halsted

Kilmalkedar Churchyard on the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry, Ireland

This beautiful 12th century church is thought to have been modeled on Cormac's Chapel at the Rock of Cashel. The Ogham Stone, at the front left, has a hole at the top and may have been used as a spot to make a binding promise. The early Christian cross, at the right, and the Ogham Stone are thought to date to the 6th century.
